The MLB trade deadline on July 31st is rapidly approaching, and the trade rumors around the Boston Red Sox are starting to heat up. Boston is 46-38, but still three games back of the AL East lead. They're in the heart of the wild card race and should be buyers at the deadline. With that in mind, here all the latest Red Sox trade rumors.
Trade Talks Heating Up?
With the deadline approaching quickly, trade talks between teams are starting to pick up for the Red Sox.
Dombrowski estimated that he and #RedSox GM Mike Hazen combined to talk to 10 teams today. "Some of it was just checking in," Dombro said.

If the Red Sox do elect to make a deadline deal, there's one area of need in particular that they'll likely target.
Red Sox Looking For Pitching Help?
It shouldn't be a surprise that the Red Sox are in need of pitching help, as it's clear the biggest need on the roster. Evan Drellich of the Boston Herald reports Boston knows it needs pitching help and is weight its options.
Then there’s the actual roster composition, with the Sox in desperate need of pitching.
While the club is fully aware of its need for an arm, asking prices are astronomical because many teams still consider themselves in at least the wild card mix, according to multiple people familiar with the trade market. The names just aren’t out there yet, a point Dombrowski made himself last weekend, and the names that are available have too high a price tag...
Top prospects Yoan Moncada and Andrew Benintendi could indeed be moved. But despite Dombrowski’s reputation as a wheeler and dealer with concern chiefly for the major league product, he does value those youngsters very highly, a person familiar with his thinking said.
The Red Sox likely won't make any moves until closer to the deadline. In addition to pitching, manager John Farrell told WEEI that adding a right-handed hitting infielder is also a need.
Red Sox Interested In Rich Hill?
One name the Red Sox have been connected to is Oakland Athletics pitcher Rich Hill. The Red Sox are one of several teams interested in Hill, reports the San Francisco Chronicle. Hill returned from the disabled list Saturday and the Red Sox sent sent scouts to watch. Of course, the Red Sox should be familiar with Hill since he pitched well in a four-game stint at the end of last season. With the A's struggling again this year and Hill pitching well, he's firmly on the trade block.
