The Red Sox news cycle was in a much different mood just a week ago, with a ten-game losing streak fraying the nerves of players, coaches, and fans alike.
However, per Scott Barboza of ESPN.com, "after dragging themselves from the doldrums of a 10-game skid, the Red Sox have now amassed a six-game winning streak, following Saturday night’s 7-1 victory over the Tampa Bay Rays. With it, they become the first Major League team since the 2004 Baltimore Orioles to have won six straight after a losing streak of 10-or-more games, according to the Elias Sports Bureau."
The six-game winning streak hasn't come without its share of drama - especially with the tensions that flared between David Ortiz and Tampa Bay Rays starter David Price on Friday night.
As Barboza points out, "the Red Sox didn’t allow emotions to get the best of them entering Saturday’s affair," putting together what could best be described as a ho-hum 7-1 victory over the Rays on Saturday night.
At this point, with what the Red Sox have been through as of late, they will take as many boring wins as they can get.
