The Boston Red Sox continue to be active when it comes to revamping the starting rotation, offering free agent starting pitcher Justin Masterson a deal on Monday.
Here's Jon Heyman of CBS Sports with the report:
rangers and red sox have made offers on justin masterson. also talking to marlins, white sox, kc, sf, minn, etc.

The Rangers were the first to put in a bid on Masterson (earlier on Monday), marking the first legitimate bid on a free agent starting pitcher by any franchise this offseason. Masterson had a disappointing year in 2014, going just 7-9 with an ERA over five in just under 130 innings between the Cleveland Indians and St. Louis Cardinals.
However, as the major interest in him would suggest, several teams are willing to bank that Masterson's struggles last year were the exception and not the rule, including the Boston Red Sox.
Stay tuned.
