The Boston Red Sox now have their chance to pitch New England as an attractive new home for free agent third baseman Pablo Sandoval.
According to Joe Amorosino of 7News Boston, Sandoval landed in Boston on Monday:

Per Bill Baer of NBC's Hardball Talk, "the Red Sox are one of several teams interested in Sandoval’s services, along with the Giants, Padres, Blue Jays, and White Sox."
The 28-year-old Sandoval is currently seeking a deal in the nine-figure range. If the Boston Red Sox are "all-in" on Sandoval as some reports have indicated, they will likely have to pony up that money to have a chance.
However, Sandoval's visit to Boston is simply standard procedure in free-agent talks, so a deal is likely not imminent as of this time. He is likely to visit most or all of the other teams registering interest before getting down to full brass tacks.
Sandoval hit 279/.324/.415 with 16 home runs and 73 RBI in 2014, and played a major role in helping the San Francisco Giants to their third World Series title in five years.
