While many of us are mourning the Boston Bruins’ loss in Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Finals, there’s at least a silver lining for fans of Boston College. Former Eagle Zach Sanford lifted the Cup Wednesday night as a member of the St. Louis Blues, becoming the 12th Eagle to have his name etched into the most famous trophy in sports.
It’s the 20th time overall that a Boston College player has been on a Stanley Cup winning roster, as seven Eagles have won it more than once (with Joe Mullen etching his name onto Lord Stanley’s Cup three times).
