Cameron Swartz looked different in December. She was a starting junior, a returning sharpshooter for Boston College's women's basketball team, but there was something new about her game. Her shooting sensed a newfound determination, and her fearless defense externally displayed her internal fortitude. She was always a tough, resilient athlete, but it just felt...different.
It was the unquantifiable "it factor," and Swartz put it on full display when her team needed it most. It was there when she scored 16 points in a win over Providence, and she showed it off when she grabbed five rebounds and scored the game-winning basket over Notre Dame in January.
