WAKEFIELD, Mass. – Sophomore goaltender Joseph Woll was awarded Hockey East Defensive Player of the Week honors on Monday, Nov. 20, after racking up a pair of victories and turning in the save of the season thus far.
On Friday, Nov. 17 at New Hampshire, Woll stopped 23-of-25 Wildcat attempts, including one save that yielded him the No. 2 play on SportsCenter's Top 10 Plays of the day. The 6-foot-4 goaltender tried to play a puck off the glass but it took a funky carom off the stanchion and pinballed right between the circles for an easy UNH goal.
