NEWTON, Mass. – Sam Apuzzo scored three of her four goals in the second half – including the game-winning goal – and led the No. 2 Boston College lacrosse team to a 9-7 win over No. 13 Virginia Tech on Saturday afternoon at the Newton Campus Fields.
With the win, Boston College clinched at least a share of the 2018 ACC regular-season title – the program's first – and has a chance to win the crown outright next Thursday when the Eagles wrap up the regular season against Syracuse.
A defensive slugfest on both sides of the field, the Eagles took a 5-2 lead into the intermission.
