Boston College broke out of its New England funk earlier this week, defeating Rhode Island and Quinnipiac to snap a four game losing streak against regional opponents. The Eagles then dropped two of three to the 17th ranked Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets. BC is now 18-19 overall, and 7-11 in ACC play.
Joey Walsh took the hill against Rhode Island on Tuesday and tossed four scoreless innings on his way to the win, allowing only three hits and one walk. The bullpen was stout as well, holding the Rams to two hits across the final five frames.
Second baseman Cody Morissette paced the BC offense, driving in the game’s first run with an RBI single in the 2nd, and capping the day’s scoring with a sacrifice fly in the 6th that gave the Eagles a 4-0 lead.
