STORRS, Conn. – For the second time in as many trips to Storrs, the No. 2 Boston College women's hockey team earned a tie with Connecticut. On Saturday afternoon, the Eagles earned a 3-3 tie at Freitas Ice Forum behind Daryl Watts' two-goal effort.
Both teams scored one goal apiece in each period, as UConn took the 1-0 lead behind Theresa Knutson's power-play goal midway through the first before Caitrin Lonergan responded with her even-strength shot with just under 75 seconds to play in the stanza.
Watts' first of the day – a power-play goal – put BC ahead at 6:23 of the second, but UConn then responded shortly before the end of the second through Rebecca Lindblad's tip-in in front.
