If there was any doubt about the Eagles chances for a bowl bid, the door was shut on Saturday.
BC fell to the Virginia Tech Hokies 26-10 in front of a sparse Alumni Stadium crowd.
John Fadule made his first BC game appearance in relief for a struggling Troy Flutie. Fadule threw for 143 yards with one interception. Fadule also led the way on the ground with 53 yards.
As for the defense, the Eagles let up an uncharacteristic 275 yards. Michael Brewer threw for 180 yards and one TD. The Hokies offense, despite some pressure by the Eagles defense, had one of the better offensive performances against the BC defense in recent memory.
