ORONO, Maine – The No. 6/6 Boston College women's hockey team used three power-play goals and an empty-netter to top the University of Maine on Sunday at Alfond Arena. Cayla Barnes, Grace Bizal, Erin Connolly and Daryl Watts scored for the Eagles in the 4-1 win.
In a penalty-filled first period – BC had four power-play opportunities and fired seven shots on goal while Maine had three – saw both teams kill of some form of a 5-on-3. Maddy McArthur had a key chest save on a short break by Alyson Matteau while Makenna Newkirk's block in the high slot helped kill the penalties off.
