EUGENE, Ore. -- Emma Tavella competed at the 2024 United States Olympic Trials on Monday night, racing in the 3,000m steeplechase. The trials were held at historic Hayward Field in Eugene.

The senior All-American placed 14th in her qualifying heat and 26th overall in the first round of the event, clocking a time of 10:00.84.

Tavella capped off an outstanding 2024 outdoor season at the Olympic Trials after earning All-American honors by virtue of placing 11th in the finals of the 3,000m steeplechase at the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championship. She was the third Boston College runner to compete in the 3,000m steeplechase at the NCAA Championship: Jennifer Donovan (2003, 2004); Danielle Winslow (2016).
