GREENSBORO, N.C. – Boston College connected on five three-point field goals in the fourth quarter and pulled to within a basket, but fifth-seeded Syracuse held on for a 67-61 victory Thursday in the second round of the 2021 ACC Tournament.
The victory moved Syracuse (13-7) to Friday's ACC quarterfinals versus Florida State while the loss ended BC's season at 7-12.
Syracuse ended the first quarter on a 6-0 run to lead 16-11. BC struggled from the field in the opening 10 minutes (3-of-15), but the Eagles converted 5-of-7 from the free throw line. Cameron Swartz led the way with six points and two rebounds in the first quarter.
