St. Lawrence Hands Eagles First Loss of Season

CANTON, N.Y. – 's third-period goal pulled the Eagles within one goal 3:08 into the third period, but it wasn't enough and the No. 8 St. Lawrence women's hockey team claimed a 2-1 win over second-ranked Boston College on Friday night at Appleton Arena.

St. Lawrence (6-3-2) took a 1-0 lead into the first intermission via Hannah Miller's power-play goal, and then built the advantage to 2-0 off Kennedy Marchment's second-period goal. Newkirk pulled Boston College (8-1-1) within one and broke the Saints' shutout bid, but BC could not find the equalizer with the extra skater as time wound down and the Saints handed the Eagles their first loss of the season.
