Earlier this week, Southeastern Louisiana guard Roger McFarlane announced on social media his intention to transfer to Boston College.
McFarlane will be a senior next season after initially playing at Dodge City Community College before going to SE Louisiana for three seasons. He started 32 games for the Lions last season and averaged over 35 minutes per game, the real kind of toughness that BC head coach Earl Grant looks for in his players. McFarlane is a big guard, standing at 6’5” and averaging almost 9 rebounds per game last season. He can score when called upon, but Grant will probably look to him as a defensive presence in the backcourt to instill the “gritty not pretty” culture that he values so greatly.
