The Boston College men’s hockey team opened 202 in a big way, winning the first game of the year by a score of 8-3 and defeating the UVM Catamounts for the third time this season. The Eagles are now 12-4 overall and are on a 10 game winning streak.
BC started the game slow, with UVM dominating in shots and taking a 1-0 lead less than 5 minutes into the game. It took another 5 minutes for BC to get on the board, but once Ron Greco got the scoring started BC didn’t let up. The Eagles ended up taking a 3-1 lead into the first intermission after Marc McLaughlin and Aapeli Räsänen scored within seconds of each other late in the period.
