CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Katie Pyne scored two minutes, 39 seconds into overtime to help the #15 Boston College women's hockey team top UConn, 4-3, in the Hockey East Tournament quarterfinal round on Saturday afternoon at Kelley Rink.
With the win, the fourth-seeded Eagles now advance to face top-seed Northeastern on Wednesday, March 1 at Matthews Arena.
The Eagles took a 1-0 lead late in the first period thanks to Caroline Goffredo but the Huskies would equalize in the second. UConn then answered an Abby Newhook goal with two consecutive goals for a 3-2 lead with five minutes to play in the third.
