BC hockey alumnus and BCI favorite Patrick Eaves has been diagnosed with what medical professionals believe to be Guillain-Barré syndrome after missing a number of games due to feeling weak and ill. Eaves, who left BC at the end of the 2004-05 season, is currently under contract with the Ducks. He recently wrapped up the best season of his NHL career, scoring 32 goals and recording 51 points.
Guillain-Barré syndrome is a disease that causes the body’s immune system to attack the peripheral nervous system which results in severe muscle weakness, and can include isolated eye movement and/or coordination issues.
