Patrick Brown Hoists Calder Cup as Charlotte Captain

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Former BC men's hockey captain Patrick Brown hoisted the AHL's Calder Cup this past weekend as the captain of the Charlotte Checkers, the affiliate of the Carolina Hurricanes. The Checkers defeated the Chicago Wolves on the road in Game 5 on Saturday for a 4-1 series victory.

It marks the second straight year that a former Eagle has captained the AHL champion after Ben Smith won the trophy last year with the Toronto Marlies.

Brown had five goals and five assists with a plus-7 rating in 11 playoff games for the Checkers.
