PITTSBURGH, Pa. – Behind Amanda West's 94th-minute game-winning overtime goal, the Pitt Panthers topped the Boston College women's soccer team, 2-1, on Thursday night in ACC action at Ambrose Urbanic Field.
The teams played to a scoreless tie at the first break – thanks in part to right-handed parry on a close-range shot in the final five minutes of the half – but then Pitt struck first in the 50th minute. The Eagles kept looking to goal and equalized 15 minutes later, with sending in a cross that found the back of the net.
BC kept pushing for a second goal, with feed to and thee freshman's ensuing shot llate in the second half just finding the side netting.
