PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Chase Yoder converted a rebound near the left post with 4:30 left in regulation and No. 9 Providence held on for a 4-3 Hockey East victory over No. 1 Boston College on Saturday night at Schneider Arena.
The Friars earned a split in the weekend home-and-home series, improving to 11-6-2 (5-4-2 HEA). The Eagles dropped to 14-4-1 overall and 7-3-1 in Hockey East.
Sophomore Oskar Jellvik and rookies Will Smith and Gabe Perreault scored for Boston College, which lost for just the second time in its last 10 games.
