No. 9 Duke Tops Boston College, 3-2, With Strong Second Half

DURHAM, N.C. – The Boston College men's soccer team scored twice in the final 30 minutes of play, but the Eagles couldn't finish off the comeback, falling at No. 9 Duke on Friday night, 3-2.

The ACC contest was scoreless for the first 57 minutes of play before the teams combined for the five goals, including three in an eight-minute span. Heidar Aegisson's first goal of the season in the 87th minute made it a one-goal game and the Eagles kept pushing for an equalizer but it never came.

Despite earning three corner kicks in the first 20 minutes – and five total in the first half – Duke couldn't capitalize in the early going, with Antonio Chavez Borrelli saving the lone corner the hosts produced a chance off of.
