The win was the Eagles' eighth straight, pushing their record to 10-4-0 (5-2-0 HEA) with one game remaining in the first half. The Fighting Irish lost its fourth consecutive game and fell to 8-5-2 (4-2-2 BIG 10).
Knight made half of his 26 saves in the second period, including a right pad save to deny Cam Burke on a breakaway late in the frame.
