CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Tim Doherty's second goal of the night midway through overtime on Friday night lifted Maine to a 4-3 Hockey East victory over No. 4 Boston College at Kelley Rink.
The Eagles suffered just their second defeat in the last 15 games, falling to 15-6-0 overall and 9-4-0 in the league. The Black Bears improved to 11-9-4 (5-7-2 HEA) with their fourth straight win in the series.
Doherty closed the night with two goals and an assist, while his linemate Mitchell Fossier had a goal and two assists. Jeremy Swayman made 37 saves between the pipes for Maine, including 18 in the third period.
