BOSTON – The Boston College women's hockey team fell on the road at No. 3 Northeastern on Sunday afternoon at Matthews Arena, coming up short in the Hockey East contest, 3-0.
Northeastern scored one minute, 15 seconds into the game to take the early lead but the Eagles responded by outshooting the Huskies, 12-6, in the frame. In the second period, Northeastern peppered Kelly Pickreign with 17 shots but the sophomore goaltender stopped all of them to keep it a one-goal game.
A BC penalty late in the middle frame gifted Northeastern a third period power play and the Huskies capitalized 10 seconds into the frame for a 2-0 lead and pushed it out to 3-0 three minutes later.
