BALTIMORE, Md. – In a matchup of the two best teams in women's college lacrosse, No. 1 Maryland ended No. 2 Boston College's run at the program's first national championship as the Terps captured a 12-10 victory.
A sellout crowd of 9,433 – the fourth best crowd for an NCAA Tournament championship game - were in attendance for Sunday's thrilling national championship game at Homewood Field in Baltimore.
BC's season ended at 22-2 overall as the Eagles tied their school record for single-season wins. BC also won 22 games in 2018.
BC made its third consecutive appearance in the national championship game.
