CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Tamara Thierus' goal midway through the first period proved to be the game-winner as New Hampshire defeated the Boston College women's hockey team, 3-0, on Friday afternoon at Kelley Rink.
The Eagles out-shot the Wildcats 32-38 in the game, but UNH got on the bpard midway through the first and then made it 3-0 before the first intermission. After a scoreless second period that saw make 13 saves for the Eagles, Ava Boutilier responded with 17 in the third period for the visitors, and Thierus potted her second of the day late to put the game away.
