We mentioned in our mini-preview on Friday that the women's soccer team's hopes of returning to national prominence this year hinged largely on the health and effectiveness of redshirt junior McKenzie Meehan. After week one, it looks like she'll be just fine. Meehan scored three goals in two games in her return to the Eagles, powering Boston College to a pair of wins in the season's opening weekend.
In Friday's rivalry matchup with BU, Meehan struck early and late to power BC to the win. Meehan put the Eagles on top in the 16th minute, a lead that held up for nearly an hour before BU's Rachel Blauner scored to tie the game in the 73rd.
