CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Graduating seniors Emily and Eryn McCoy have earned two of the 16 spots on USA Field Hockey's National Development Squad, which is a new program in the U.S. field hockey development pyramid.
New U.S. Women's National Team head coach Janneke Schopman worked to introduce the new program last fall to help with players' transitions from the Under-21 program to the full national team.
In USA Field Hockey's announcement of the squad, Schopman noted: ""The Developmental Squad or Shadow National Team, as I'd like to call it, completes the pipeline for all athletes in college and therefore will make transition to the National Team easier.
