Mattila's Two Markers Not Enough in Hartford

HARTFORD, Conn. – Despite a pair of goals from sophomore forward Julius Mattila, No. 16 Boston College dropped its first decision to UConn in its last seven meetings in a 5-3 loss on Friday night at the XL Center.

The Tampere, Finalnd native extended the Eagles' power play scoring streak to six games and tied the contest, 2-2, midway through the second period but UConn utilized a late tally in the second period and never looked back.

JD Dudek brought it to a goal late in the third with an unassisted rifle from the slot, but the Huskies managed to hang on.
