BOSTON, Mass. – Jullius Mattila scored a pair of goals to lead fifth-ranked Boston College past No. 10 Northeastern 3-2 on Thursday night at Matthews Arena, earning the Eagles their fourth straight victory and 20th of the season.
BC posted its 10th 20-win campaign in the last 11 years and 15th in the past 17 seasons. Jerry York collected his 20th season of at least 20 wins during his 26-year tenure as head coach.
Boston College improved to 20-8-1 overall and 13-6-0 in Hockey East, taking over sole possession of first place in the league standings with five games remaining.
