Charlottesville, Va. – The eighth-ranked Boston College field hockey team captured its third double overtime win, defeating Pacific, 5-4, on Sunday afternoon. Senior Brooke Matherson put the game-winner in the back of the cage in the 87th minute, netting her first career game-winning goal off a rebound.
After the Eagles (7-3) took an early, one-goal lead, BC fought from behind the majority of the game, retaliating every time the Tigers (4-6) went up by one. Junior Ymke Rose Gote tied the game at four with just under 12 minutes to play, eventually sending it to overtime.
