BRIGHTON, Mass. – Sophomore knocked in the winning run in the seventh inning as Boston College defeated Syracuse, 4-3, in an ACC game at the Harrington Athletics Village on Friday.
Boston College improved to 9-15 overall and 1-3 the ACC. Syracuse is now 9-17 and 1-3 in the conference. The Eagles and Orange are scheduled to play on Saturday at 1 p.m. The final game of the three-game series will be played on Sunday at noon.
Martinez, who went 2-for-3 at the plate, stepped up in the seventh inning with two on. Sophomore pinch hit for and worked the count and walked.
