INDIANAPOLIS - Boston College freshman guard Taina Mair was named the Tamika Catchings National Freshman of the Week by the U.S. Basketball Writers Association on Tuesday.
Mair collects a second weekly honor in as many days after she was named the ACC Freshman of the Week on Monday.
The Boston native averaged 16 points, 7.5 assists, and 6.0 rebounds in the upset over then-No. 9/10 NC State and Sunday's victory over Florida State. Six of her nine field goals were from beyond the arc and shot 54.5 percent from deep.
BC earned its first win over a top-10 team since the 2010 season and handed the Seminoles their first ACC loss.
