CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Rookie Laura Lopez, who clinched Boston College's upset of 10th-ranked Syracuse earlier this season, was the closer again on Friday afternoon as the 41st-ranked Eagles took down No. 27 Miami 4-3 at the Flynn Recreation Complex.
The Eagles tied their highest win total in the last 15 years as they improved to 14-7 overall, 4-7 in the ACC, and 12-3 at home. The Hurricanes fell to 13-6 (6-5 ACC), suffering their second straight loss in Chestnut Hill.
"We played our hearts out today, I'm so proud of how hard our team competed," said head coach Nigel Bentley.
