BURLINGTON, Vt. – Caitrin Lonergan had three points while Erin Connolly finished with two assists as the No. 10 Boston College women's hockey team topped Vermont, 5-2, on Saturday at Gutterson Fieldhouse.
After a scoreless first period, Vermont opened the scoring early in the second but four straight goals from BC put the Eagles in control. Megan Keller and Lonergan found the back of the net in the second and then Delaney Belinskas and Lonergan scored in opening four minutes of the third. The Catamounts potted a goal midway through the final frame to pull within two but Connolly's empty-net goal with 1:15 to play put the game away.
