SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- The No. 16 Boston College Eagles (5-5, 2-1), fell to the No. 13 Syracuse Orange (9-2, 2-1) on Friday night, snapping their three-game win streak after a 3-0 road loss. The Eagles return to .500 on the year with the first blemish on their conference record, as all five losses have come against top-20 opponents.
The Eagles and Orange battled to a scoreless first half, with BC earning an early chance on a Sarah Johnson attempt off a penalty corner, but it was saved by Syracuse goalie Brooke Borzymowski. Eagles goalie Emily Gillespie maintained a clean sheet through three full quarters before the Orange began converting on offense, scoring three in the final frame.
