Boston College Women’s Soccer alum Kristie Mewis is an Olympic Bronze medalist! This was her first Olympics appearance, making her the first Eagle to compete in women’s soccer since 2012, when Laura Georges represented France.
After a heartbreaking loss to Canada in the semifinal, the United States Women’s Soccer team rallied in the bronze medal match on Thursday morning, beating Australia 4-3. Although Mewis didn’t play, she was available off the bench and remained a presence off the field.
During the Olympics, Mewis largely dressed as a sub, and was subbed in late in the group stage matches against Sweden and Australia in relief of Rose Lavelle.
