CHICAGO – Boston College women's soccer alumna Kristie Mewis has been named to the U.S. Soccer Women's Olympic Team. The 18-player squad was announced on Wednesday on ABC's Good Morning America.
This marks the first Olympic roster for Mewis. The 2013 graduate is one of five midfielders named to the roster.
Mewis debuted with the USWNT on Feb. 9, 2013 against Scotland and then recorded her fist goal on June 15, 2013 in a friendly at Gillette Stadium. After a five-year absence from the national team, Mewis earned her first call up to the full national team in October 2020 and earned her first appearance in over six years in going on to score her second national team goal in the Nov.
