As NWHL free agency rolls on, the NWHL has announced that Kaliya Johnson has signed a contract with the Boston Pride. Johnson, who graduated from Boston College in 2016, spent last season with the Connecticut Whale. She will join fellow former Eagles Lexi Bender and Emily Field on the Pride. With many NWHL (and particularly Boston Pride) players heading to the Olympics in 2018, strong players that may not have been “stars” last season should see improved ice time and popularity.
Johnson played in 14 regular season games for Connecticut last season, missing a few due to injury.
