LEXINGTON, Ky.-- For just the second time in program history Boston College had a player receive First Team All-Region honors as middle blocker Julia Haggerty was tabbed American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) North All-Region Team, announced Tuesday by the organization.
Haggerty, a native of Lafayette, Calif., led the ACC and the nation during the regular season with 223 total blocks, averaging 1.91 blocks per set, finishing first in the nation in the category. In her senior campaign, Haggerty became the all-time NCAA leader in blocks per set in a single season within the 25-point scoring era (2008) dethroning BYU 2018 graduate Whitney Young who averaged 1.
