Johnny Gaudreau won the 2017 Lady Byng Memorial Trophy at tonight’s NHL Awards. The Lady Byng Trophy is awarded to the "player adjudged to have exhibited the best type of sportsmanship and gentlemanly conduct combined with a high standard of playing ability."
Gaudreau is an offensive star for the Calgary Flames. He had 61 points in 72 regular season games this season, including 18 goals. Gaudreau also had only 2 penalties this season. This doesn’t play into NHL award voting, but Gaudreau had a stellar run with Team USA this year as well, with 6 goals and 11 points in the World Championship.
