CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Senior Alex Howell was named the Ray Guy Award Player of the Week after his performance in Death Valley on Saturday night. It is the first time the punter earned the weekly award.
Howell tied a career high with 10 punts, totaling a season-high 452 yards, the second-most punt yards in his career. He had a season-long 58-yarder, landed six inside the 20-yard line and did not allow a touchback. In the third quarter, Howell punted from the Clemson 33-yard line and landed a perfectly placed ball at the two-yard line.
