BRIGHTON, Mass. – The Boston College baseball team lost its weekend opener to Wake Forest, 15-8, at the Harrington Athletics Village on Friday evening. The Eagled dropped to 11-15 overall and 1-9 in the ACC, while the Demon Deacons improved to 20-6 and 5-5.
BC was spotted a four-run lead after one, taking advantage of an error that opened the door for four unearned runs. Senior catcher Peter Burns (Reading, Mass.) capped the scoring with a two-run home run; his first of the season.
Wake tied the game in the fifth on a grand slam by third baseman Brock Wilken.
