Chestnut Hill, Mass. - Boston College sophomore running back Jon Hilliman was named to the watch list for the 79th annual Maxwell Award, the Maxwell Football Club announced on Tuesday. Named in honor of Robert W. "Tiny" Maxwell, the award is given to America's College Player of the Year.
Hilliman returns as the Eagles' top scorer, notching 13 rushing touchdowns in his freshman campaign. He earned all-Atlantic Coast Conference third-team honors and was named the ECAC Co-Rookie of the Year. The Plainfield, N.J., native broke BC's rookie record for rushing attempts with 210 and tied for ninth in BC single-season record books for rushing touchdowns.
