OMAHA, Neb. – Boston College center fielder Sal Frelick (Lexington, Mass.) was voted an American Baseball Coaches Association/Rawlings Gold Glove recipient as selected by the ABCA coaches committee. Frelick, who played center fielder every day for the first time is his career, is the first national recipient of the award in BC history.
The ACC Defensive Player of the Year, Frelick was perfect in 127 chances with one outfield assist and numerous highlight-worthy catches.
Frelick was previously named an All-ACC First Team pick at the conclusion of the regular season.
