BOSTON, Mass. – Boston College baseball freshman outfielder Sal Frelick (Lexington, Mass.) was voted the NEIBA Rookie of the Year by the region's head coaches. Frelick is joined by five teammates on the New England Intercollegiate Baseball Association's Division I All-New England Team.
Frelick, whose season was cut short due to knee surgery in late April, hit a team-leading .367 with 30 runs, 32 RBI, 18 stolen bases and 13 extra-base hits in just 39 games to earn a spot on the NEIBA All-New England First Team. He was also named to the All-ACC Second Team and ACC All-Freshman Team.
