MALIBU, Calif. – The Boston College baseball team shut out Pepperdine, 3-0, to earn its first win of the season at Eddy D. Field Stadium on Saturday afternoon. Behind six innings of shutout ball from graduate right-hander Chris Flynn (Naugatuck, Conn.), the Eagles evened their record at 1-1.
Flynn, a transfer from Division III Roger Williams, was staked to a 3-0 lead before he stepped on the mound. With a run in, junior second baseman Patrick Roche (Milton, Mass.) blasted a two-run home run to left field.
