CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Five incoming freshmen for the Boston College men's hockey team had their names called this weekend at the 2019 NHL Draft in Vancouver at Rogers Arena, the most for the Eagles in a single draft in a decade. Four of the five players were taken in the first 50 selections overall.
BC also set a program record and became just the fifth program in college hockey history to have three players taken in the first round. Forwards Matt Boldy (Minnesota) and Alex Newhook (Colorado) and goaltender Spencer Knight (Florida) were all selected in the top 16 picks of the opening round.
